I hope you all had a lovely break. This term we have lots of exciting topics and themes ahead.

  • We are ordering fruit and vegetable by size.
  • Writing menus for our restaurant.
  • Designing healthy meals.
  • Exploring money and prices in our Fruit and Vegetable shop.
  • Learning where our food comes from.
  • Describing fruit.
  • Reading ‘The Lighthouses Keeper’ and designing meals for him.
  • Learning songs about keeping healthy.

In our adult led Maths this half term:

  • Children will begin to partition sets of ten objects and learn the number pairs to 10.
  • Starting to look at addition pairs and what the mathematical symbols mean.
  • Start to describe the properties of these 3D shapes, including the 2D shapes of their flat faces.
  • Children explore lengths, heights and weights, learning to compare each of these, using direct comparison.
  • Children play with, explore and identify patterns, including line symmetry in images and simple shapes.

In our Literacy and Guided Writing sessions we will be using Pie Corbett as an inspirations. We are starting to learn ‘The Little Red Hen’

In our PE sessions we are focusing on improving our fine and gross motor skills through a variety of different exercises.

Our PSHE/ Jigsaw theme this term is Dreams and Goals.

Our planning in Robin class will be led by the children and their interests as our themes change.
