Well done to Naomi for being the Star of this Week.
You have shown great empathy towards children who are not as fortunate as we are in our Harvest Assemblies throughout the week.
We had a lot of fun with Harvey, the Peace Hospice Bear, who came to our special assembly on Friday. Thank you for all who baked, brought in and/or bought cakes in aid to Peace Hospice Care Watford.
As part of our Poetry Unit of English, we have explored describing food items with our 5 senses. The children in Sparrow Class have shown fantastic table manners and have learned many new describing words this week. We will continue to study poems and adjectives, focusing on rhymes and other literary features.
In Maths we have learned about money and time. These concepts will be revisited often during the year. Please provide your child with opportunities to pay and get change, calculate amounts using coins (we haven’t learned about notes yet) and telling the time in analogue and digital clocks whenever possible. Next week we will be measuring using cubes, beads and decimetre strips.
Thank you to all parents who came to the Reading morning and please feel free to come again on Tuesday at 8:45am.
Well done to Harvey, who has raised money towards the playground equipment by taking part in a fun-run.
Thank you for all who came to the book fair. Part of the money raised will be returned to the school in book donations.
All Harvest donations have been sent to New Hope Trust in Watford, helping homeless people in our area. Thank you to all who have contributed.
Have a great weekend!
